ART AUCTION & EVENT “OWL PROWL ART & WINE WALK”

THEME

We are seeking a large selection of artwork celebrating nature in all mediums. Plein air pieces as well as abstract and impressionist artwork will be considered.

ABOUT THE VENUE & EXHIBIT INFORMATION

Nehrling Gardens is a non-profit organization dedicated to conservation and preservation. The property is located in the affluent Windermere area and is open to the public several days a week. Each year we hold two art events in the gardens to help raise funding and awareness. Artists are invited to participate in helping us to raise funds by pricing their artwork at lower than normal retail value. You can also opt to donate artwork for the auction also. Typically artists who take part will offer artwork for sale between 30-50% off their normal retail value. It’s a way where the arts community can honor and contribute to the conservation work carried out at this beautiful location. Artists also benefit from the exposure as the event is very highly attended.

We will be inviting several artists to participate as featured artists. These artists will be invited to paint onsite and to showcase a larger body of work. If you are interested in painting onsite and participating as a featured artist please indicate this on your submission form.

Art & Wine Wander. This ticketed event takes place outdoors in the gardens. We will pair featured artists to a food and wine station. This artwork will be displayed outdoors and guests are invited to meet the artists and talk to them about their work. We will also be selecting 100 artworks for the auction. The auction will be shared with thousands of people who will be invited to bid on the artwork they wish to purchase. The auction will be available to preview online one week prior to the live event. The highest bidder gets to purchase the artwork. As a bidding system is implemented you will be asked to submit the starting bid price for each artwork you submit. This should be the lowest price that you are willing to sell your art for. We will also ask you to submit the true retail value. We have many buyers who purchase artwork each year at this event and they like to see that they are getting a reduced price. This helps us to raise much needed funds. We often sell a large number of artworks at the event and it’s a great way for artists to get exposure whilst also being able to give back.

Artwork submitted to the auction is displayed on the property within the gardens. Guests who have purchased tickets to the event will view the artwork at the event and place bids. This is a one day event held on October 12th. Selected participating artists will receive one complimentary ticket to the event.

We are seeking a large number of artworks in a variety of mediums. All artwork will be for sale.

Submissions close on Oct 2
Artists informed of selections by Oct 3
Drop off artwork October 5th - 10am-11am
Art Event October 12th
Pick up unsold artwork on October 13th 12-1pm

SUBMISSION PROCESS

Artists can submit up to 5 pieces of art per show for consideration. There is no fee to submit to this show. Artists will be notified via email if their artwork was selected. You will also receive an agreement at this time outlining important dates. Please insure your agreement is signed online on or before the delivery date.

Images MUST be uploaded online together with a complete description.
Please label each image in the following format.
Your Name_Title_Medium_Size_Price 
Example: Jane Smith_Flower_Oil on Canvas_16x20_$300
All works entered for consideration must be original concept and design and must have been completed by the artist making the submission and must be ready to hang (using a wire hanging system).

Upon acceptance there is a $35 participation fee payable to Artscape prior to delivery. This is a one time fee not per artwork accepted but per artist.

All art exhibitions are open to the public.

All Artwork is for Sale.
Nehrling Gardens receives 50% commission on sales. Artists receive payment for any sold artwork directly from Nehrling Gardens via mail within three weeks following the event.
